Since 1919, Casa Santa Ignez has played a fundamental role in the lives of the people of the communities of Rocinha and Parque da Cidade in Rio de Janeiro. It has developed talents and helped to improve the lives of many children.
Casa Santa Ignez is a century-old house in Gávea, one of the greener areas of the state capital. Every day, about 250 boys and girls are attended to in its day care and Children’s Workshop, receiving educational support and having their most basic needs attended to.

Children from age 2 find their second home at Casa Santa Ignez. Their parents can go to work at peace, knowing they left their children in a harmonious, safe, and organized environment.
Up to age 11, children have a stimulating environment with recreational activities and study. Valued such as friendship, respect, and discipline are emphasized.
The charming chapel at Casa Santa Ignez, where Sunday mass is celebrated at 8 AM, can also be used for weddings, baptisms, and anniversaries, which may or may not be followed by receptions in one of the three halls of the house.
